With more than 20 hours of quality videos, our Preschool Science & Engineering playlist will help your child develop a strong foundation for their future studies.
An Unintimidating Start to a Grand Journey
We believe preschool science and engineering should be fun, exciting, and engaging. Our primary goal with the first entry of our science and engineering curriculum (available here) is to motivate children to begin looking at the world through the eyes of scientists and engineers. Because of this, we are more interested in building enthusiasm than in building raw subject matter knowledge (although we certainly do expect that to develop as well).
Rather than making yet another dull, lifeless workbook, we’ve created a YouTube playlist filled with toy factories, animal adventures, talking planets, truck songs, and fun field trips. The result is a vibrant experience that children will eagerly watch and re-watch, without ever associating it with schoolwork drudgery.
Future Science & Engineering releases and recommendations from Journey With a Destination will build atop the foundation created here, ensuring your budding young scientist or engineer is always ahead of the curve.
We Respect Your Right to Teach Your Beliefs
Our playlist does not seek to promote evolution, creationism, or any other belief regarding origins. We believe strongly in the rights of parents to choose how and when to address this subject for young children. Regardless of your personal convictions, you can use our curriculum as the core component of your child’s Science & Engineering studies, while being free to supplement it with more personalized coverage of the topic of origins.
Using this Curriculum
We’ve designed this curriculum to be unintrusive for both you and your child. Just play the YouTube playlist for your child, and that’s really all there is to it. We recommend playing the videos for approximately 30 minutes per day, but you can adjust this as needed. After finishing the playlist, you may wish to start back at the beginning and repeat the playlist once or twice more. Move on to something more advanced as soon as you feel your child is ready.
If your child shows a strong preference for certain types of videos (e.g., trucks or animals), feel free to repeat them and skip videos that might be less interesting to them. Remember, the goal is to get your child excited about science and engineering, not to check boxes on a form. Consider this an opportunity to learn a little more about what genuinely motivates them.
Zero Prep, Zero Mess
You don’t need any extra equipment to use this playlist in your homeschool. Just play the videos, and relax.
Preschool Science Topics Covered
Our playlist covers many different scientific topics, including physics, chemistry, biology, anatomy, astronomy, earth science, and more. That having been said, in this playlist we pay special attention to the subjects of solar system astronomy and animal science (especially the study of animals that are likely to be encountered by students near their own homes). We are currently working on playlists for higher grade levels, and these upcoming playlists will focus on different themes.
Preschool Engineering Topics Covered
We’ve previously described some of the key topics children need to study over the course of their engineering studies, and we’ve also suggested how to handle 12th grade engineering. Our playlist has been carefully designed to serve as the first stepping stone along the long journey to that destination. Over the coming months, we’ll be assisting with all the steps in between, as well.
For the most part, this playlist focuses on mechanical engineering, with a special focus on vehicles and manufacturing.

Expect More to Come!
We are currently developing playlists that cover science & engineering at higher grade levels, and will be releasing them soon.
